Under the slogan "the best for roofs and walls", Riwega from South Tyrol has been producing airtight and windproof building envelopes and diffusion films for outdoor use as well as vapor retarders and vapor barriers for indoor use for 25 years.
Vapor retarders regulate the passage of vapor from the inside to the outside and thus protect the insulation. Whether on a roof or a wall, the vapor barrier initially regulates the passage of vapor. This means that the passage of vapor is slowed down so that not too much water vapor can condense in the insulation and cause moisture and mould damage. "Made in Germany" is the advantage of Riwega vapor barriers, they are manufactured in the German subsidiary.
At the stand at DACH+HOLZ 2024, Mr. Bastian Weilermann will be showing us the Riwega sarking membranes, which are the counterpart to the vapour barriers on the outside. These are diffusion-open underlays so that moisture in the insulation can also escape to the outside during the drying period in summer. It is extremely important that moisture that has condensed in the insulation during the winter months can dry out again.
Riwega works directly with fabricators on the German market: Carpenters, roofers, woodworkers and joiners are the customers. In other markets such as Italy, Austria, France and Spain, the situation is different.
