Refurbishment JOKER from KINGSPAN Light+Air
After a long time, Kingspan Light+Air GmbH will once again be represented at the leading international trade fair DACH+HOLZ in Stuttgart in Hall 6 in 2024 with individual product solutions and services for flat roofs. The specialist for skylight domes, flat roof windows and continuous rooflights has been on the market with its products for more than 60 years.
KINGSPAN refurbishment JOKER - the name says it all
At the trade fair stand, the Kingspan employees show us a highlight, the refurbishment JOKER. The term refurbishment JOKER already indicates that the product can be used anywhere. No matter which product of which make is present, the adapter fits everywhere. This adapter has an extroverted water protection edge that protects against wind and weather. No intervention in the roof tiles is required for installation, so the roofer does not have to work with foil, welding membrane or liquid plastic, he can fasten the adapter directly with sealing tape or screws. If there is hail damage, for example, the roofer can use the adapter to easily fit a new skylight dome onto the existing crown without interfering with the roof membrane.
Sustainability: the design reduces CO2 emissions
Several chambers appear in the sectional view of the adapter. This has the advantage of being able to work energetically. Tightness is achieved using screws on the sides and from above. Sustainability is a major issue for Kingspan Light+Air; this design reduces CO2 emissions as there is no need for welding and blow-drying. An extension system, which is included in the scope of delivery, is attached to the adapter and placed in the middle with a seal. It is important to note where the openings are located. The customer decides on the position of the openings. Next, the cornice is fitted; here too, attention must be paid to the position of the opening. Holes are pre-drilled for mechanical fastening. To finish, the skylight dome is placed on top of the substructure described above. It is fastened briefly with a hammer and the new skylight dome is mounted on the flat roof.
New skylight dome: quick installation without interfering with the roof membrane
With this method, a new skylight dome can be installed much more quickly without any intervention in the roof membrane. Compared to other installation methods, less material is used and less CO2 is emitted. In principle, anyone can carry out the installation themselves and save time in the process.
