Wood products from ELKA woodworks
The eco pioneer ELKA Woodworks has been based in the 4th generation since 1906 in the municipality of Morbach in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The company specializes in the processing of wood in a large sawmill, a chipboard plant, a natural wood panel plant and a planing mill. All of this takes place in a so-called climate-friendly cascade production, i.e. optimally networked. Around 230 employees from 13 different countries work at the ELKA plants to achieve this.
Decorative "HOLZliebe" products and the ESB product family
The ELKA Woodworks stand at the Dach+Holz 2024 trade fair in Stuttgart provides an overview of the company's entire portfolio. In the decorative line, we see natural wood panels with the HOLZliebe label, with the ESB and ESB Plus wood construction panels as the flagship in the front row, for the production of which only fresh wood chips and no waste wood chips are used in a unique way for emission reasons.
ESB wood-based panels: optimal solution for new builds and renovations
From a technical point of view, ESB boards offer an optimum solution for renovation and new builds. The E-modules are identical to those of other competitors, but they differ in the use of environmentally friendly glues and the origin of the wood. The wood used for production comes from a radius of 150 km from the production site. The wood chips generated in the production process are not pressed in pellet machines at ELKA, but are used in high-quality products such as the ESB panels made entirely in Germany.
ESB plus board best certified building board on the German market
In this context, it should be noted that the ESB plus panel is considered to be the best certified on the German market - Blue Angel, Sentinel Haus QNG label and ennobled with a DIBT certificate in accordance with the high requirements of the MVVTB. The Sentinel Haus certification focuses very strongly on air quality. The VOC factor of the spruce panels used by ELKA is generally very low, which largely prevents allergies compared to a three times higher VOC value for pine panels. In practice, the VOC value means that when rooms heat up, various elements can take on a life of their own and generate unpleasant emissions.
ESB and ESB plus building boards offer a wide range of applications
ELKA supplies these ESB and ESB plus building boards to industry, the prefabricated house industry and the German trade. They are used as wall panels as well as floor panels and ceiling panels. ELKA also offers the boards as cross beams for reinforcing walls. The boards can be processed in a wide variety of formats with tongue and groove and delivered directly to the trade or large processing companies.
