The unique selling point of the Austrian family business FREYWILLE is jewelry artwork made of fire enamel. The company logo reflects the history of the unusual artistic jewelry designs: it all began with the founding of an enamel manufactory in 1951 by the Viennese artist Michaela Frey. After Michaela Frey's death in 1980, Friedrich Wille took over the entrepreneurial management of the company and Simone Grünberger-Wille took over the artistic management. New shapes, materials and artistic designs were developed under the name FREYWILLE.
The preferred material for the jewelry designs is enamel, which is processed in combination with precious materials such as 18-carat gold, diamonds and brilliant-cut diamonds. Exactly how the enamel, originally a glass mixed with minerals, is turned into these extraordinary pieces of jewelry remains a company secret. FREYWILLE only reveals that it is specifically fire enamel. The colors are fired into the enamel. This process gives the colors an eternal durability, as they do not remain on the surface, but rather sink deep into the enamel and exude these characteristically brilliant colors.
FREYWILLE will be presenting a new wedding collection at Inhorgenta 2024. These pieces of jewelry were inspired by Gustav Klimt's famous painting "The Kiss". The many decorative elements such as spirals or geometric parts from Klimt's work have been incorporated into the collection, with the designer facing the challenge of capturing the characteristics of the elements on a small surface in the smaller pieces of jewelry. The retail prices for these sensational pieces range up to 7,000 euros.
The works of other artists such as Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet also serve as a source of inspiration for the designers' creations. An engagement ring from the Van Gogh collection features a brilliant-cut diamond in the middle, while Monet's favorite subject from the gardens of Giverny was the inspiration for a new collection called Iris rosé, which differs from the successful darker Iris collection with its delicate pastel-colored enamel. With a piece of fire-enameled jewelry from FREYWILLE, customers combine their passion for their favorite artist and their passion for exceptional, valuable jewelry in the most beautiful way.
