The famous name Glashütte itself stands for the production of watches. The family-run Tutima brand has been around since 1927, with its classic location in the Saxon town of Glashütte. Tutima was the first company in the watch industry to be named Manufacture of the Year in 2018. The company specializes in the construction of very exclusive and fine watches. It also has roots in aviation and is dedicated to water sports. Tutima manufactures both high-end and sporty models in steel and titanium.
At Inhorgenta 2024, we will be able to take a closer look at the Tutima Manufaktur Chronograph. It has its own escapement, its own screw balance and a Breguet hairspring, which stands for a particularly high-quality system for regulating the time. A mono barrel ensures a power reserve of 65 hours. All the exclusive components are housed in an 18-carat solid gold case, and even the hands are manufactured in-house. This high-end watch in solid gold is available for sale at a price of 36,800 euros in an exclusive limited edition of just 90 pieces.
A unique feature of Tutima is the development and implementation of its own chronograph caliber. The legendary pilot's chronograph from the 1940s served as the basis for the movement, which was taken up again and redeveloped in-house - the result is the quintessential German chronograph with addition stop and flyback function, both special features of this watch.
Tutima watches are designed for long-term use, not only by the buyer and wearer, but also for the next generation to enjoy these exclusive timepieces. The continuity and reliability of such a watch is more important than the fashionable aspect or the latest digital features. Models such as the Grand Flieger Chronograph with a dial that runs from the inside to the outside in shades of green to match the ceramic bezel sell extremely well - they are simply fantastic watches. The strap of this successful model is also in green, the hands and indexes are luminescent and very easy to read. On the back, the beautiful movement with an 18-carat solid gold rotor and Tutima's rose gold seal as a seal of authenticity are a visual treat. This model is not a limited edition and retails for 3,600 euros.
Classic watches in aviation have traditionally always been black. However, the perception has changed over time and users want more joy and cheerfulness. The color green with its good combinability is the perfect trend for this. Tutima produces many watches in green, but also in blue and other colors depending on the model and line.
