The artist Polly Habuzin comes from Cologne, where her studio is located, and is exhibiting some of her works at ARTMUC. During the interview at her stand, she explains that she has been painting her pictures for around four years using a technique that she discovered by chance. Over time, she realized that this technique felt completely right for her. Her paintings are usually large-format. She points out that she herself is also large and that it therefore came about naturally. The paintings have a great luminosity, as colors play an important role for her. Polly Habuzin paints with acrylics on canvas and explains her approach using one of her works, which is called "Paradise" and will be exhibited at ARTMUC.

Characteristic works: Painting technique acrylic on canvas

She explains that the first step is to punch the canvas. This creates a grid that is characteristic of her works. The painting "Paradise" measures 1.60 m x 1.20 m. Habuzin continues and explains that colors are extremely important to her. She often uses neon colors, which she describes as "particularly bright, young and modern". The different layers of paint are applied one after the other and on top of each other to achieve a certain effect of depth.

"Paradise" - large-format pictures in bright colors

She chose the name "Paradise" because "a lot of beautiful things happen" in this painting and almost all colors are represented. The artist believes that you can always discover something new when you look at it closely. Sometimes you can also see areas where the canvas has been left unpainted. She believes that her works shine, radiate a lot of energy and have a high recognition value. Polly Habuzin also reveals the price of the painting "Paradise". This is at least 5,600 euros, but is likely to rise.
