Trained ballet dancer Simon Kranz comes from Frankfurt am Main and is self-taught. The artist has dedicated himself to painting since 2020 and was soon able to achieve his first successes via his website and social media. In doing so, he is following a trend triggered by the coronavirus pandemic and selling his works primarily online. Simon Kranz is now also represented at ARTMUC for the first time, where he is presenting his abstract works to a wide audience in order to increase his visibility.
Kranz's works are large-scale and very dynamic, which - as the artist himself says - stems from dance. He now lives out his dance-like language of movement on the canvas, giving Kranz an opportunity to express himself artistically away from the stage. The creation process plays a major role for him, as something completely different is often revealed at the end than was assumed at the beginning. So what may initially appear to be a mistake can end up being something wonderful. Due to their size, the artist's works are particularly suitable for surgeries or high-ceilinged rooms, where the chosen color combinations make them a very special eye-catcher.
Simon Kranz likes to work with acrylic and ink and always leaves some canvas so that the colors and the thick application of paint are shown to their best advantage. The artist currently works primarily with neon colors and metallic surfaces, creating both very melancholy and dreamy pictures as well as wild and loud works. His works live from his natural sense for color compositions, without having to represent anything figurative.
