Contemporary art - Gallery niza
"Bringing art from Thuringia to the world and art from the world to Thuringia" is the guiding principle of Galerie niza. The gallery is living up to its motto, as visitors to ARTMUC 2024 will not only find works by local artists. Founded in Meiningen in 2020, Galerie niza has also been represented in Erfurt since 2023 and mainly exhibits works by artists from Thuringia. Galerie niza is managed by Nicole Langguth-Zaiß.
Realistic painting: oil paintings by the artist Jorge Villalba
Among the artists presenting their works at ARTMUC 2024 are the sculptor Horst W. Wendland and the Spanish-born artist Jorge Villalba, who is known for his realistic paintings. Jorge Villalba once came to Germany to complete a postgraduate course at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. The highlight of the ARTMUC is his detailed and lifelike oil painting, which deals with the obligation to wear masks during the pandemic.
Sculptures by the sculptor Horst W. Wendland
The sculptures that the sculptor Horst W. Wendland presents in the gallery are predominantly made of heavy materials such as iron or steel. However, his works are by no means coarse or brute. On the contrary, Wendland's figures are delicate and inspire the viewer with their liveliness and fine details.
Horst W. Wendland's works seem unique and unmistakable, which makes him an artist with a high recognition value. At ARTMUC 2024, the sculptor will be showing a fascinating figure with wings: the figure of Icarus. The sculpture, which deals with ancient history, stands for the tragic story of rise and fall. The figure of Icarus consists of numerous iron parts welded together.
Art objects of the gallery niza for ARTMUC 2024
Another of Wendland's works, which can be found at ARTMUC 2024, is also made of welded iron and is movable. Each of the two special art objects that Horst W. Wendland is showing at ARTMUC is painted in color and covered with gold leaf, creating beautiful accents. If you wish, you can purchase one (or more) of the works in the niza gallery. The prices of the works of art exhibited here vary and are in the four to five-figure range.
