At this year's ARTMUC art exhibition, visitors to BernARTGasse from Vienna can marvel at the multifaceted works of Austrian painter Georg Pummer for the sixth time. For the first time this year, he is showing his new acrylic works on linen from the still life series.

His paintings represent the classical characteristics of the still life era with a modern, recognizable interpretation of his own. The core theme of this series deals with transience. In various large and small formats, he depicts transient beauty through playful transitions in the color scheme between motif and background. In the current works, this is expressed above all in his colorful flower works. Tall vases with flowers, whose brightly colored blossoms and leaves dissolve into the background, are the focus of the picture and reflect the finiteness of beauty.

Georg Pummer initially found the origins of this enthusiasm for still life art in classical portrait painting. Here, too, the viewer can see the recognizable elements of his own signature in his paintings and works. With this new, flowery series, the artist has now succeeded in bringing tradition and modernity into harmony on one canvas and remaining true to his art.
