Vollmer traditional winery from Palatinate
For over 50 years, the traditional Vollmer winery has been located in the heart of the sunny Palatinate in Ellerstadt, close to the Wine Route, in beautiful locations. Agriculture and viticulture have always been deeply rooted, so hunting is also an issue for the traditional Vollmer Winery. It is important to the business to always live and work in harmony with nature, including in viticulture. Both the owner and his daughter are passionate hunters, which is also reflected on the winery's stand at ProWein 2024.
Wines from classic Riesling to the new Cabernet Sauvignon
The Vollmer winery's range naturally includes the classic Riesling for the Palatinate, but also new varieties. A Cabernet Sauvignon has been cultivated since 2019 and the classic red Dornfelder is also represented in the range. Cabernet Sauvignon is a new grape variety blend that was only approved in 2019. Vollmer was one of the first to plant and test this very autumn-resistant blend. The winery is currently testing and varying it in the hope of producing many good wines.
Balance between tradition and new things
The owner himself, Mr. Heinrich Vollmer, is a passionate winegrower with many years of experience on wine estates. He has been at home in the Palatinate for 50 years and lives for traditional viticulture, which includes solidarity, cooperation, location and weather, as well as cellar development. He tries out old traditions with new things and always strives to find the right balance.
New falcon line as a tribute to the wonderful natural world
The Vollmer winery's broad focus is on the new falcon line, which the estate is proud to present. It is rooted in the vineyards where falcons have been reintroduced. Nature conservation is particularly important in viticulture. The area where the long-lost falcons have resettled is enchanting in the morning hours with its golden rays of sunshine and the view of the Palatinate. The Vollmer winery sees its falcon line as a tribute to this wonderful nature. These wines are perfect for enjoying outdoors on a wine hike. The summery, light blend of the line with the white wines Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon and Pinot Gris is suitable as an accompaniment to a good meal as well as to a beautiful afternoon or evening in nature.
