The Sennebogen 885 G is one of the most impressive machines at the trade fair and impressively demonstrates the dimensions that modern material handling technology can achieve. The port material handler, which weighs around 320 tons, impresses with its efficiency, flexibility and well thought-out hybrid concept - specially tailored to the requirements of large port facilities.
With a reach of up to 38 meters, the Sennebogen 885 G is designed for efficient material handling in large seaports. There are very few comparable machines on the market in this weight class. A key unique selling point is the Sennebogen Green Hybrid System: a third hydraulic cylinder acts as an energy accumulator and supports the lifting process like a mechanical spring.
This system reduces fuel consumption by around a third and at the same time ensures high power reserves - with up to 600 kW of engine power. The hybrid mechanism enables considerable savings in energy consumption without compromising performance.
The device is primarily used in large port facilities and is ideal for unloading handysize ships or containers. A fully automatic spreader as an attachment enables precise and fast work in container handling. The machine configuration is variable: whether on tracks, rails or a mobile undercarriage - the undercarriage can be adapted to the respective site requirements.
The choice of drive also offers flexibility: customers can choose between a powerful 597 kW diesel engine or a 500 kW electric motor. The latter is CO₂-neutral and is connected directly via 400 volts, with medium voltage up to 6.7 kV on request - a battery solution is not planned.
The workplace in the Sennebogen 885 G is not only functional, but also designed for maximum operating comfort. The generously designed Portcab is equipped with an additional Instructor Seat, which is particularly advantageous when training new operators. The cab can be raised and moved by up to nine meters using the so-called Skylift system - depending on the desired viewing angle of the ship or the handling site. This height adjustment ensures an optimum overview and therefore safe and efficient operation of the machine, even in complex handling situations.
The 885 G is manufactured at the company's site in Straubing, around 100 kilometers from the exhibition grounds. As a German family business, Sennebogen attaches great importance to quality "Made in Germany". The machines are fully assembled, tested and prepared for acceptance by the customer at the factory. After disassembly, the machines are transported to the site using up to 18 special low-loaders - a logistical challenge that underlines the scale and complexity of this machine category.
