Autonomous control with full sensor fusion and digital terrain model

Unlike many semi-autonomous systems, Liebherr Autonomous Operations is based on genuine autonomy. The machine is equipped with a large number of sensors - including laser scanners, cameras, GPS and inertial sensors. All data sources are merged in real time to create a digital image of the surroundings. This terrain model is continuously updated and serves as the basis for navigation, obstacle detection and task planning. The machine takes care of everything else independently - with high precision and reaction speed.

Order creation via web application - no permanent intervention necessary

The ease of use is designed for maximum efficiency. The user plans the job using a web application - simply and graphically supported. Once started, the system continues to work completely autonomously. Permanent monitoring on site is not necessary. The site is secured by the system in such a way that there is no danger to other areas even in the event of a fault. This enables unattended operation overnight or over several shifts. A classic example: While the operator goes home, the machine continues to work - and is ready for use the next morning with the material movement already completed.

Particularly in monotonous application scenarios such as backfilling plants, feeding crushers or loading conveyor systems, this results in enormous productivity gains - without additional personnel costs. Liebherr positions the system specifically where routine tasks with a consistent process are required, for which qualified personnel are difficult to find. The system thus offers a concrete answer to the shortage of skilled workers in technical operations.

Seamless switching between autonomous and manual operation

Although the machine can work completely autonomously, manual control remains possible at all times. You can switch between automated execution and conventional operation at the touch of a button. This allows for flexible use - for example, when special or one-off tasks are required that require human experience. Remote control functions and other assistance systems can also be integrated into the concept. Liebherr offers the autonomy package as a modular extension for existing machine platforms - comparable to other optional extras. This allows the technology to be integrated into existing fleets as required without the need for new machines.
