WINKHAUS currently employs more than 2,300 people at 4 production sites across Europe, one of which is in Poland. The portfolio includes window fittings, security door locks and electronic and mechanical locking systems. The family-run company is now in its 5th generation and is managed by the owners themselves.
WINKHAUS manufactures a brand new product, the fittings that are used inside sliding elements. There are three different versions: a tilt-and-slide, a smooth-running sliding fitting with a soft-close function that closes automatically and a lift-and-slide solution that can be used for a barrier-free transition from the patio to the garden. The various sliding fittings cover every area of application. Be it high wind loads for high-rise buildings or particularly high-quality solutions for detached houses.
Fittings are all the metal parts that are concealed in a window frame. It is these that ensure that the window can be operated at all - that it can be tilted, can be set down in parallel with a ventilation gap, can be slid open, etc. The functions of the Primeport SK 220 Z tilt and slide element are as exciting as its name. The sash element can weigh 220 kg, Z stands for positive control - if the handle is moved upwards and turned through 180 degrees, the element tilts directly without any additional force having to be applied. If you tilt the handle by 90 degrees, it goes into the sliding position, which can also be pulled out very smoothly.
The fixing on the window is based on the standard Winkhaus Active Pilot fitting. It is something special for manufacturers because they do not have to buy many special parts, as many of the parts are already used in the standard turn/tilt windows. At the lower end of the Prime Port SK 220 Z tilt and slide element, a carriage is used to create this magic - the element runs on the track and is automatically pulled back gently as soon as it reaches the corresponding position.
