Schlegel at the Electronica 2023: Traditional command devices in the digital transformation

Schlegel presented its latest developments in the field of control devices at Electronica in Munich. Schlegel, known for high-quality buttons, switches and key switches, shows how traditional control elements are being further developed in the digital age. In addition to the classic control devices, Schlegel now offers a new generation that can be easily integrated into modern bus systems and thus meets the requirements of digitalization.

Innovative new products: Flexitast and Panel Mount Jacks

One of the most significant innovations is the so-called Flexitast - a push-button that integrates a visualization in addition to its classic function. This technology makes it possible to display symbols, logos or texts directly on the push-button and thus offers an intuitive user interface. This visualization is particularly valuable for plant engineers and machine manufacturers, as it enables users to see the function of the pushbutton at a glance. In addition to the Flexitast, Schlegel presented a new series of panel mount jacks that offer different connection options for USBs in various formats. These interfaces are increasingly being installed in means of transportation such as buses, trains and planes to enable passengers to charge mobile devices during long journeys.

Proboxx and emergency stop buttons: automation technology in the digital age

Another focus of the Schlegel presentation is the connection of all components to digitalization. With the Proboxx, Schlegel offers a modern solution for integrating control devices into a bus system. This makes automation technology even more flexible and enables efficient protocol management and real-time data availability. In addition to the function of monitoring production, the Proboxx enables immediate feedback on the current operating status of the system. Another highlight is the emergency stop button, which brings machines to an immediate standstill in an emergency and is therefore an important safety feature in the industry.
