The Marmot brand, founded in 1974 by two students in California, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The founding idea came about during an expedition on which the two founders had to spend the night on a glacier and sew their own sleeping bags and down jackets. This pioneering work laid the foundation for one of the best-known outdoor brands, which is characterized by innovation and functionality.
Marmot has a strong focus on sustainability and offers a wide range of products that are both waterproof and breathable. Of particular note is the Minimalist Pertex Jacket, which is made from 100% recycled material and is PFC and PFAS free. This jacket is not only lightweight and compact, but also fully recyclable, making it an ideal choice for environmentally conscious outdoor enthusiasts.
Marmot began its journey with the development of sleeping bags and has maintained this tradition to this day. The new Mad River series offers sleeping bags in four different temperature ranges and three lengths that provide optimal comfort and warmth. These sleeping bags are equipped with practical details such as a zipper slider, which prevents the fabric from jamming, and an additional zipper for better temperature regulation.
