Actually, we had only expected jewelry when we met with jewelry designer Andrea Frahm. But in addition to beautiful, individual pieces of jewelry that are all handmade in Germany, Messe.TV presenter Klas Bömecke also found a delightful combination of fashion from Pajas and jewelry from Andrea Frahm. See for yourself!
Andrea Frahm is a designer who makes very exciting things. She is mainly inspired by nature. Especially from the underwater world and she combines her jewelry, even here at the booth. I think that will be very interesting. Klas Bömecke: Hello, hello to you. Wow, you have a great stand here. It's quite varied what you offer here, where do you get your inspiration from? Andrea Frahm: Well, I was and still am an enthusiastic diver and many of my pieces of jewelry are the result of that. For example, the seagrass bracelet, it moves just like in the underwater world, the stones are individually woven into the mesh. Yes, these are the perennial favorites and highlights of my collection. Klas Bömecke: Looking at your necklaces, it reminds me a little of coral. Andrea Frahm: Yes, definitely. Of course, we have the coral theme, if I can show you that briefly. I pick up on that directly - with the corals - but there are no limits to the colors or the color combinations. Klas Bömecke: But a woman who wears something like that can be sure that people will look. It's very extravagant. Andrea Frahm: Yes! It should be, because the clothes are all handmade here in Germany, Made in Germany is very important to me, everything is assembled in the studio with freelancers...
Klas Bömecke: Everything is actually produced here? Andrea Frahm: Yes, everything is produced here, yes! Not the stones of course, I get them from my stone dealers, but I also pay attention to where I buy, that's very important to me. Whether they are companies that I can trust. That's the case with pearls and it's the same with gemstones. Klas Bömecke: Just as others have their trusted butcher, you have your trusted gemstone dealer. Very nice. Now you not only have the underwater theme in your jewelry collections, but there's also a bit of something going on above the water - idea-wise. Andrea Frahm: Yes, ultimately nature is a great source of inspiration. Another component in my collection is the theme of leaves - I would like to present my colleague with a necklace - Nana may I ask you for a moment? This is from our Leaves collection - just as leaves fall to the ground in the fall and always create a new arrangement. Klas Bömecke: And what is that, is it silver? Andrea Frahm: It's silver, yes. And the piece is also completely handmade, it is completely movable and always falls differently. This flexibility is a major theme and it is also a recurring theme in the bracelets. Klas Bömecke: There's always something moving, it rustles a bit, great! Andrea Frahm: Not with the rings. Klas Bömecke: But of course it's an experience for all the senses. Andrea Frahm: Yes, exactly.
Klas Bömecke: And down here is a gold mat, I would say as a layman. Andrea Frahm: Yes, it's also hand-woven, it's not machine-made and it's also made in Germany. Klas Bömecke: But a lot of work goes into it, doesn't it? Andrea Frahm: Yes, a lot of work. It also has its price. Klas Bömecke: Where is the price? Andrea Frahm: Well, on sale from 1800 €. Klas Bömecke: But I don't think that's too expensive compared to the work involved. You must spend a very, very long time on it? Andrea Frahm: Yes, you sit at it for a long time. Klas Bömecke changes stands and goes to his direct neighbor. Klas Bömecke: This is Paja's Mrs. Gassner, I'd like to say hello! Ruth Gassner: Hello. Klas Bömecke: You two work together and you can already see a combination - that's a pretty good fit. Andrea Frahm: Yes, this is a Collier de Chien, which is also from this Seagras underwater world work that I do and in this case we almost screamed this morning and said it looks beautiful with this dress, which is also brand new in Ruth Gassner's collection.
Klas Bömecke: Ms. Gassner, what are the cornerstones of your design? Ruth Gassner: The quality, the colors and a little more unusual than you find in ready-to-wear clothing nowadays. Klas Bömecke: If you look at this coat, it's very unusual. Is it made of foam or something? Ruth Gassner: No, it's a coat printed with a photo of me. Klas Bömecke: But clear lines and unusual colors or patterns Ruth Gassner: Yes, depending on what is created. New things are always being created, clear lines are very popular at the moment but also a bit too straight. I like more imaginative shapes, especially with jewelry. Fashion and jewelry from Munich Schwabing Klas Bömecke: What makes your collaboration so fruitful? Ruth Gassner: The personality. Andrea Frahm: And of course it's also exciting. We've been exhibiting together at Inhorgenta since last year, we've known each other for a very long time. Ruth Gassner has had a store in Schwabing for 18 years, one in Franz-Joseph-Strasse, the most beautiful part of Schwabing, and I used to stand in front of her shop window and squint my nose because I thought the things were so great and so unusual and I wished - back then, that was a long time ago - that we could work together and that came to fruition 2-3 years ago. Klas Bömecke: What would you say are the elements? Why does your fashion go so well with Ms. Frahm's jewelry? Ruth Gassner: Yes, I also think the colors and the materials. I think fashion and jewelry - it depends a lot on the materials - if they compete then they repel each other, but if they go well together, it can be very harmonious and beautiful.
Klas Bömecke: Ms. Frahm - your colleague - she's already standing nicely in the background, you're also wearing such a beautiful combination. It suits you very well. This is from the Leaves collection? Andrea Frahm: Yes, it's Umbel, that's the name of the earrings, and of course in combination with the great shift dress from Pajas. Perfect, yes. It's fun to show where a necklace like this should be worn. Of course you can also wear it casually with a pair of jeans, but both items really belong on the red carpet. Klas Bömecke: That's right, I agree, so thank you very much for having me here. You do really great things. Ms. Gassner, all the best and continued success. Ruth Gassner: Thank you Klas Bömecke: Good luck to you too, thank you very much. Andrea Frahm: Thank you very much.
