EUROBIKE 2024 in Frankfurt am Main marks an important meeting point for the global bicycle industry, where manufacturers, dealers and bicycle enthusiasts can experience the latest trends and innovations in the world of bicycles. From July 3-7, this trade fair will serve as a platform for the presentation of new bicycle models, accessories and technologies, as well as for the exchange of ideas on future-oriented mobility solutions and sustainable transport concepts.
There are many different types of bikes designed for different purposes and types of terrain. Here are some of the most common types: City bike/Urban bike: For urban traffic, often equipped with luggage rack, mudguards and lights. Area of use: short distances, commuting in the city. Mountain bike (MTB): Robust construction, wide tires with a coarse profile and suspension on the front and/or rear wheel. Area of use: Off-road terrain, mountain and forest trails. Road bike: Lightweight construction, narrow tires, aerodynamic position. Area of use: asphalt roads, races, long distances. Trekking bike: A mixture of mountain bike and city bike, often with pannier rack and mudguards. Area of use: Longer tours, also on unpaved paths. Gravel bike: Similar to a road bike, but with wider tires and a more stable design. Area of use: Mixed surfaces, gravel paths, easy trails. Fatbike: Very wide tires for better grip on snow and sand.
