Elevator manufacturers will be showcasing innovative solutions at interlift 2023. The topic of sustainability involves both the production and operation of elevators, as well as the modernization of existing systems instead of a complete replacement. Interesting products can also be found among the component manufacturers of lifts. In an interview with the VFA-Interlift e.V., we talk about the trends in the industry. General facts and figures about interlift 2023 at Messe Augsburg

Interlift, the international trade fair for elevators, components and accessories, was able to build on the "pre-corona" visitor numbers during the event in Augsburg from October 17 to 20, 2023. 19,000 elevator experts from over 110 countries came to find out about the products and services on offer from more than 500 exhibitors. This Interlift was the last event to be held at the Augsburg exhibition center. Interlift will be held in Nuremberg in the future, for the first time from 14 - 17 October 2025, in order to increase capacity. The world's leading trade fair for the elevator industry will also be hosted in Nuremberg by the proven team of trade fair organizer AFAG together with VFA-Interlift e.V. as the technical sponsor.

At Interlift 2023, innovations in elevator technology such as elevator systems and prefabricated components, escalators and moving walkways, gears, control, monitoring and safety systems, cabins, doors, ropes, operating and display elements and hydraulics were on display. Associations and the trade press were also present in the 6 exhibition halls. The most important visitor groups included experts from the elevator industry, engineers and architects, interested installers and maintenance companies as well as building owners and planners. Representatives of the supervisory authorities also came to see the new developments on the market. The supporting program offered seminars from all areas of the industry, while the lecture program covered current topics. While there was still some concern before the start of the trade fair about the impact the slump in new residential construction and the tense situation on the construction market in general could have on the number of visitors to the trade fair, these concerns were put to rest after the very successful trade fair. On the contrary - many major manufacturers registered for the 2025 event during the current trade fair. In addition, a number of collective stands, such as Italy, India and China, announced that they would be expanding their space. The fact that more than half of all visitors attend Interlift exclusively to find out about the latest developments in the industry also speaks in favor of Interlift as the industry's most important trade fair. Exhibitors unanimously rated post-show business as very good to good. It is clear that they are making firm plans to present their products at the next Interlift. This is in line with the intention of over 90% of visitors to recommend Interlift to others and visit again. Since the first Interlift in 1991, the exhibition space has steadily increased, doubling from 22,000 m² in 2001 to 48,000 m² in 2013 alone within a good 10 years.
